On Wednesday the 9th of September 2009, the Mediterranean Island of Malta welcomes Sweden for the WC qualifier for South Africa 2010. Accompanying this event, the Malta Poker Challenge will take place at The Casino at Portomaso in St. Julians between the 7th & 8th of September. We will kick off the tournament on Sunday the 6th of September with a welcome Party at Club 22 which is located on the 22nd floor in the same building complex as the Casino at Portomaso with fantastic views over St. Julians.

TOURNAMENT INFO

The tournament will be a two-day event starting on the 7th of September. The maximum number of participants in the tournament is 120, out of which, 20 entries are reserved for the local population. 100 tournament packages are available. The Play will continue through Day 1 until only 9 players remain for the final table on Day 2.

A tournament package contains:

• 4 nights at the 5 star Hilton Malta hotel in St. Julians for 2 guests
• €550 (€500+€50) Buy-in to the tournament
• Dinner Buffet during the two tournament days
• Welcome party at Club 22
• 2 match tickets to the WC qualifier match between Malta & Sweden
• Transportation to and from the match for 2 people.

The Tournament Director is Joakim Geigert. Joakim has, among other things, co-founded the poker community Prosharks, been elected Poker Personality of Sweden in 2007, hosted the Swedish Television show 'Poker million' season 1&2. On top of this he has 2 ITM placements in the EPT Barcelona (5th resp. 17th).
